why my dad had positive ecg and a negative stress test?

my dad had a check up when doctor said him that he already had one heart attack after looking ecg. However after that stress test is negative. I am very confused
thanks for replying. But is it some thing to be worried as doctor said he had an attack after seeing ecg? Will his life span get effected?
