How long after do they send you for a stress Test??
My Due date is today but still no baby i was just wondering how long after do they send you for a stress test or is that just for some people….and do doctors actually wait 2 weeks before induction???
Every doctor is different. Mine always wanted to do stress tests at like 5-7 days overdue and then every 3 or so days after that until delivery. With my 1st the doctor waited 2 weeks over to induce, but with my 2nd and 3rd my new doctor only waited 1 week. I think if I go overdue again with my next, I will try and wait the 2 weeks again to give myself as long as a chance as I can to go into labor myself. I really want the experience of going into labor myself. Although my doctor swears I probably will never go into labor myself since I never have. If you don’t feel the baby moving though tell your doctor and they will send you for a stress test now.

Stress tests are done on those that smoke or are high risk……I was a smoker and always had preturm labor and births……….if you dont have any of the factors for a high risk pregnancy i would not worry about it, i mean do you really want to sit in a room for over an half hour and push a button every time the baby moves?? cause thats all it is……Hope i helped and hope you have that baby soon…..good luck

Well, I just had a baby 8 months ago. When I went to my 40 week checkup and had not dilated hardly at all, she sent me right up to the labor/delivery ward for a stress test. When all was okay, they scheduled me for an induction that sunday, which was like 6 days. So they only let me go a week overdue. And being induced was a b*tch!!! Long, very painful labor. Good luck! I hope your doctor will not let you go past one week of being overdue. But maybe if he does you will get a chance to go into labor on your own!

I carried both of my boys, almost exactly 2 weeks after their due dates, And both times I was given a stress test at 40wks!
As for induction, As long as the baby is fine, And you’re fine, I believe they wait until that 2 week mark to induce, Mainly because (And this is what my sons dr. told me) a ‘term’ pregnancy is 42wks!
