How can you fail a Stress Test?

I am going for a stress test tomorrow because the doctor thinks I have orthstatic intolerance. I was wondering if I would fail the stess test since my pulse goes from 80-130 just standing up. Will they stop it and fail you if it goes high really fast or will they keep you on there until you reach your target hr? I think mine is 196 (220-24(age)=196).Thanks!

As long as you are feeling okay, they will keep you walking (or running) until you reach your target heart rate. When someone "fails" a treadmill stress test, it is typically because of ischemic ECG changes or "malignant" arrythmias.

Good luck!

As long as your heart is tolerating the stress test they will take you to your target heart rate. They will be able to see how your body reacts.
