Thats exactly the strategy I am using now, it really works for me. Now I am able to walk in malls without having to give a about what people think. Altough I can’t go to the food court.

You are absolutely right about being able to “recover” from SAD. People with this disorder inheret a tendency to be overly anxious in new situations from a young age but they learn to ociate which situations make them anxious and so you can unlearn it through changing your thinking about it.

Volunteering also helps, you will feel appreciated and it will help increase your self esteem. Most people are also very nice to volunteers and volunteers are respected.

Great video, opened my mind up and dug up some old memories i think might be affecting me and the reason i am isolated because of it.
I think its the way of thinking i still have from school, like you had friends but then you had friends you could actually ‘hang out’ with. And obv there were different social groups and you would fear being rejected the most. So im going to digg deep on that one.

I agree with you, I belive we can all fully recover… even though I don’t FEEL it all the time, logically I think it’s totally recoverable with the right help..

Nice 2 “meet” u, it’s good u have a decent group of friends around you.

personally, i’d say find a clinician that works specifically with social anxiet. Most don’t know much about it and it’ll make a huge difference to find one that does.

I think the most important thing is to get diagnosed by a doctor first before anything is done to treat it.

i think i have sad.. but i dont know whats best for it.. as in cbt.. or like just getting diagnosed first.. i tried a psychologist but i felt like he didnt know how to help me. so.. i guess what is the best clinical option for someone who firmly believes they have this

let me give you an …
let me give you an advice. social anxiety is based on low self-consciousness. so, if really want to get rid of your social anxiety, I strongly recommend you to boost up your self-esteem. You could do that via books, as an additional source, but the main thing is visiting a therapist. Your condition is not that bad, yet. Start to do some sction against it until it becomes much worse,I mean some people become even house-bound. Good luck :-)

  15. ckkbleev Says:

    yeah you’re right, …
yeah you’re right, if you isolate yourself from the world, you look back later on and wish that you lived it in the first place. But I challenge you to say something lie, “Hi, How are you doing today?” Then if they respond with, “I’m doing great”, or something. Life is too short to live it in fear.

  16. BSMforever Says:

    also what i regret …
also what i regret is being depressed when i was younger and i look back and thing tht i was so young nad i was going through this so i just want to say to you is try to enjoy life now cause we only realise later on in our late 20s and early 30s what we’ve missed out on. Take care.
