Talk to either your minister or your school counselor. There is professional help available often for free or on a sliding scale. Please remember that the teen and high school years are the most difficult and we change as we grow older. Maybe you could think about joining a club or organization that shares your interest. Or maybe do some volunteer work with the elderly in a care center or nursing home. Working with them may increase your confidence and self esteem. I will remember you in my prayers.

Actually, you probably can get help. Go onto the Internet and see if they have a community health center that will see you. You’d be surprised at what is available. Also try calling a local church or mentoring group and try to get someone who is willing to hang out with you and help you assimilate better. it can be hard for loners because you generally don’t do well in social situations, but try something one on one. What you really need is a good friend.

If you can’t get professional help - then you are setting yourself up for a tough road. The key is MAKING yourself do the things you fear or are turned off by most, like maybe striking up a conversation with a complete stranger. Go out for physical activity, maybe a walk or something - excercise helps with mood. Also, realize that all the things that pop in your head that put you down, you have to realize it the "depression" putting those ideas in your head, you are not boring and unworthy of have a good time.

Try to find the courage to seek help, you will feel so much better when you have someone you can talk to that will listen and not judge you or think you are nuts.

I was a loner at 17. Not depressed though. I had no friends and many people hated me. I just chalked it up as "Being by myself, I have no one to carry their weight for." I didn’t go for professional help. I worked out my own problems when I thought no one cared.

I’m depressed, I have no friends, and don’t like places with people, not even libraries. I like movie theaters though.

How odd, I don’t think I have a disorder, well they say a crazy person does not know it
