Could I get a disability check for my social anxiety disorder?
I’m going to lose my job because of my social anxiety disorder, this is only the second job I’ve ever had, and the second one that will end because of my disorder. I don’t think I will be able to get another one, I’m not even sure if I can leave the house
It is a very long, painful battle, but, it is possible. As I know someone who gets it for Social Anxiety disorder. It took about 2 years to go through, with a lawyer, but, that is common with just about every case now, no matter what the illness/injury is. Be sure to have a good doctor on your side who understands your situation, and, who will be willing to agree that your social anxiety prevents you from working.
Good luck to you.

Yes, you could, but you have to be evaluated by a psychologist first to prove that your disability interferes with your job

Dear Sarah w.
It all depends on what the psychiatric doctor says and what your counselor says when you fill out your disability paperwork or better yet have a friend or relative that can be your advocate help you in filling all the paperwork out to document all of this.
This is tricky. You must have a serious problem to get disability and you must be rated as not able to work. It cant hurt to file the paperwork, but you do not need a lawyer, just someone good at getting on the web site for social security disability, doing all the paperwork and following all their requests and expect a wait of 6-8 months minimum.
Good luck, sorry for your pain,
This is what I do,
Your assistant

Highly doubtful. It doesn’t matter what your doctor says and it doesn’t matter what the doctor they send you to says. The disability examiners are the ones who pull the strings. There are plenty of ways to make money without interacting with others or even leaving your house. I have schizophrenia and it took me about 2 years of fighting to get on social security. Now I live the good life with $650 a month to buy rent, food, clothes, and co pays. It is not something I would be doing if I had my druthers.

The chance is very good as any disorder that confines you to your home is a very good reason why you cant work.
Every case/person is different.
Sometimes The Social Security determiners look for a track record & what i mean by this is: how many times have you been hospitalized for this problem? You can view ALL the disorders that The SSA will approve a Disability check for at : (if yur in USA) - Socialsecurity.gov
If your illness is not listed there, i wouldnt bother.
Also- the more time a person has spent working, the more thier check is for.
SSD- people that have worked most of their life.
SSI - people that did not work alot.
If you are considering on applying, go to a doctor of your choice or they will send you to who THEY WANT YOU TO GO TOO.
Your best bet would be to make an appt. with a PSYCHIATRIST.
If you need medicine, they can prescibe it (psychologists, counselors etc. cant).
Good Luck & Take Care
