does hypnotherapy really work?
does hypnotherapy work for anxiety
My husband did hypnotherapy to quit smoking and yes it worked for him. He should have gone back for more hypnotherapy for post smoking anxiety, but he didn’t.

If he *can* be hypnotized, yes. Not all people can.
EDIT: Some people have told me that hypnosis helped them with anxiety. But I tried it for smoking cessation, and though I did stay quit, it certainly didn’t make quitting easy. Then again, it was just one session.

I think it depends alot on the person-if you’re open-minded about it, I think it definitely helps

It sure does. I knew a hypnotherapist that was anxious because he was short on cash. After he charged a few people for his ‘work’, the anxiety {and their money) was gone.

yes, if you’re willing to be hypnotized. Severe mental trauma can undo it, tho. I had two great-aunts and another aunt get that treatment for smoking, but after about a month and a half, my grandma (their sister and mother, respectfully) died. That seemed to break the therapy and they started smoking again.
Maybe it was cause it was too soon after the therapy, but it’s just somethin to keep in mind.

It is a mental thing, if you believe it will work it will work! Research and since you are asking, I might think about it after that. I personally will try anything once, if it is for the greater good.

Hypnotherapy can widely differ in its uses. Not knowing your therapist, and his methods and purposes for techniques,
I can’t really say about "Anxiety"
My daughter was easily upset, and we used hypnotherapy at home, school, and in her therapy sessions to help her calm down and be safe … while she was "out" and resting we would read children’s books or tell stories to calm her and reinforce the calming methods. Her condition was likely much more serious than yours, and it worked well to be able to keep her from suicide and hospitalization.
