    Hello. I have PTSD. …
    o. I have PTSD.
Very tricky. I get the itchy too.
Only advice I can give that is worth anything, is… Dont pop the pills. Thats just avoiding the problem. Think about what sets you off… Little stress = Panic attack right? Stay calm, and dont trust what your feeling. Look at your problems… Realise theirs no point stressing(Because you can do the task without fear:Fact) and stay as calm as a hindu cow!- this reduces your chances of bad things happening… Take care!

    Generally try to …
Generally try to reduce unnecessary anxiety triggers like violent/scary movies, caffeine, and mind wandering in the past/future (sorrow).

Have a proper diet without too much sugar, eat enough, exercise frequently so a strongly beating heart is nothing unusual to you. The sweating also helps wash out excess hormones.

Other than that you can’t do anything about it. It’s a “false” problem in that the part of you that is afraid of it, can’t possibly regulate it. Always trust your nervous system :)

    I used to be …
I used to be TERRIFIED of the dark.. total freak out anxiety/panic stuff. One night I decided to face it, knowing logically that there is nothing to fear (but scared anyway). I turned off the lights and sat naked on the floor in the dark in the middle of the room. It cured it!

Maybe do that. Sit and think about how mortal and fragile and human you are. Or volunteer in a Convalescent home. You know.. basically get some perspective.

You two are so great btw.

    can anyone tell me …
can anyone tell me if muscle ache and tightness of your throat are also symptoms of panic attacks ??????

  10. Cuzntime Says:

    Teach yourself NOT …
Teach yourself NOT to react to the symptoms. Just allow them to be there. When you react to it with fear, you feed it and then it progresses so your goal is to just “allow” it to be there without reacting to it.. That includes tensing any muscles against it too. When you have a symptom take slow, deep tummy breaths and make sure your tummy is relaxed and your not tensing any stomach muscles.

I am a anxiety and panic attack coach locally.

    Well, when I get …
Well, when I get anxiety attacks, sometimes I will just rest on the couch for awhile. Other times I will put on some soft, mellow type of music. I usually won’t talk to people about it, though, because I have this feeling most of the time that I am just burdening them with my problems. (yeah, I have some issues to work on)
